Rapid changes in global competition have manufacturers focused on productivity by implementing new technologies, installing automated systems and adapting new management techniques and ideas in line with Industry 4.0.

A common goal behind this push is to link and integrate all manufacturing components into a Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS). As component of Industry 4.0, these changes embody transformation at the forefront of modernising manufacturing processes to keep industry competitive in a fast-changing world.

In line with this, Sangari Education has announced the availability of Intelitek’s FMS solutions that introduce advanced manufacturing capability to vocational and engineering classrooms. By emulating in the classroom real-world industrial automation and production applications found in modern industrial plants, it facilitates educational programmes that train skilled workers to be industry ready.

“The core component of an FMS solution is a machine tending station that will typically integrate a robotic arm with mobility components such as a slide base, materials handling devices and for example a CNC machine,” explains Bez Sangari, CEO of Sangari Education, distributors of Intelitek’s hardware and software educational solutions.

“Each FMS setup or cell is designed to perform a task in the manufacturing process. The FMS product line includes Intelitek’s CNC machining and turning centers, SCORBOT and MotoMan robots, advanced simulation, automation, programming, and control software and curriculum. The machine tending packages are stand-alone workcells, where typically, a robot tends to a CNC machine and performs assembly tasks,” says Mr Sangari.

Intelitek’s Robotics Automation Technology includes basic robotics expanded with materials handling, sensor technology and PLC programming, giving an integrated PBL approach to manufacturing.
