F1 in Schools Kits

If you want to give more of your students the opportunity to design, make, and test F1 cars without registering them as official teams, then the F1 Basic Car Kit is what you need. The kit includes one F1 balsa wood blank, four wheels, one CO2 cartridge, steel axles, sandpaper, screw eyes, and washers.

F1 Balsa Blank

The official blank for creating F1 cars measures 223 mm x 65 mm x 50 mm and contains a predrilled hole for the CO2 cartridge. Providing awesome performance, stability, and durability, the F1 in Schools Race System is a complete system for Formula 1 class activities. The start and finish gates – which easily move from floor to track – are constructed from durable, high-density polyethylene. The start gate also features horizontal F1 start lights: the five center lights start one at a time, from left to right, and the race starts four to seven seconds later. A light on either side lets racers know if they pushed the launch button too soon. The stable launch pods have a vertical range that fits almost any CO2 car. This system features both Auto Launch and Manual Launch racing modes. The system connects to a computer via a USB port and cable. When the system is connected, use the included Race Management software to log reaction and finish times. Race Management software requires Windows XP operating system.

The elevated racetrack has been redesigned to provide an even better alternative to racing metric dragsters on the floor. The FasTrak simplifies the process of conducting races and improves viewing for spectators. Our racetrack is strong and durable. Check out these new features:
Overlapping rail system with track keys that secure tightly with thumbscrews ensures flush joints between each track section for a level and smooth track. Redesigned track supports ensure even height and level sit. Laminated MDF surface is strong and durable. It also features custom-extruded aluminum rails for excellent strength, a built-in conduit along the length of the track that keeps cables off the floor, and eight-foot track panels for easy handling and storage. The track simulates to scale a quarter-mile racetrack. Because metric dragsters are about one-twentieth the size of real dragsters, the track’s racing distance, from the start to the finish line, is 20 meters – one-twentieth of a quarter mile. This simplifies mathematical comparisons to real race cars. A staging area behind the start gate is big enough to position four to five cars in each lane. Adequate deceleration distance is provided at the end of the track for cars crossing the finish line. The FasTrak package includes 11 sections, each 7-1/2 feet long, and 12 legs. The start/finish gate hardware is sold separately.

Compact 1000 F1 CO2 Car Package
Denford has done the engineering of software and hardware to:

  • Test the vehicle’s aerodynamics before machining.
  • Create CNC toolpath.
  • Manufacture the car quickly and accurately on the CNC router.

A Brief Overview

Design the car body and create a 3-D solid model. Use the Virtual Wind Tunnel software to analyze velocities, pressures, turbulence, lift, and drag of the 3-D model. After the final 3-D model is complete, import it into Denford’s QuickCAM 3D software to generate the toolpath and CNC program. Graphically verify the CNC program in the Virtual Reality CNC Milling software. Manufacture on the Compact 1000.

Contact Sangari SA for more information about how to purchase the system.
